Meta, the parent company of Facebook, reportedly intends to reduce its workforce in the coming weeks. According to the Financial Times, the tech giant is attempting to cut jobs while its work has slowed down. Meta will likely announce the restructuring once it has completed its staff performance reviews. This is expected to happen sometime in March.
The company had laid off employees in November. These cuts, which were the largest in Meta’s almost 20-year history, affected every organization within the company. Meta did not respond to The Jolt Journal’s comment requests immediately. The Times The potential scale of restructuring was not reported.
Meta is far from being finished. The number of staff who have been laid off in the last year is significantly lower than those who were previously announced. The former set out plans to reduce its workforce by 10,000 employees, only to announce it later was getting closer to 18,000 jobs.
