Diehard BMW fans absolutely love the automaker’s design of its grille. Many call them they kidneys and will defend them to the death. Now, when we take a look at the Concept iX3, there’s a different picture that may or may not sit well with some.

Ahead of debut at the Auto China show in Beijing, the automaker teased the Concept iX3 on Twitter. When you look at it, you can see the focus is on the kidneys. It first shows in the traditional form that many have seen, and then they morph into something more… interesting?
I’m not sure how I feel about this change, personally. Though I do think that a change should be given a chance and embraced to be adopted. At least I will give it a shot. While this is a concept, the production vehicle will be previewed with the same name. It’ll more than likely just be a standard X3 SUV with a battery-electric drivetrain that replaces the gas engine.
