Samsung took the wraps off of their Galaxy Note 3 phablet and their new product line up, the Galaxy Gear. Initial responses were pretty mixed when it comes to both devices, although the response for the Note 3 were a lot stronger. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Gear ahead of the rumored “iWatch” that Apple seems to be working on.
If you’re in the market to per-ordering the Galaxy Note 3 and/or the Galaxy Gear, Verizon will start taking pre-orders tomorrow, September 6, 2013. Usually, Verizon isn’t the first one to gain exclusive rights to sell devices first, but this time, it seems like Samsung has given the green light to Verizon first. Both devices will become publicly available later this month, but for now, you can pre-order the device of your choice starting tomorrow.
The Galaxy Note 3 impressed many folks. It’s definitely an improvement from its predecessor, sporting a 5.7″ Full HD Super AMOLED display, 1.9 GHz Exynos 5 Octa or 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipsets (depending on markets), 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB storage options with expandable microSD slot storage to 64GB.
The Note 3 also comes with a 13 mega-pixel camera being brought over from the S4, and it also includes a high-CRI (color rendering index) LED flash. Depending on the Note model, the camera can record 4K Ultra HD video or 1080p video with 60fps. Also, Ultra High Quality Audio (~192KHz, 24 bit) support is present. The phablet also comes with a 3200 mAh battery life to provide you a long day battery life without having to worry about charging all the time.
