If you own a one of the Ford GT supercar, you definitely don’t want to see your investment go down the drain, or rather up in flames. Earlier this year, a Ford GT caught on fire in Germany. Ford issued a recall and will immediately will the issue via software update so that your supercar doesn’t go up in flames.
It’s estimated that around 200 of the 2017-2018 Ford GTs have been affected by this recall. The issue here is related to the hydraulic fluid that can leak from the valve block assembly due to the high pressure onto the exhaust. Currently, it’s known that only one owner was affected by this issue.
The owner was casually driving through Munich, Germany when his car caught on fire. Fortunately, the 52-year-old and his son were not injured in the incident. The Ford GT in question only had 43 miles on it, basically brand new, and didn’t catch fire to due a crash or reckless driving, rather caught fire because of a mechanical issue. Lucky for him, Ford replaced his GT supercar free of charge.
