According to a report by Politico published Sunday afternoon, Jared Kushner used a private email account to conduct government business at the White House about “media coverage, event planning and other subjects.”
The report suggest that Kushner, a White House senior advisor and Trump’s son-in-law, may have engaged in similar behavior to that of Hillary Clinton. Clinton has been previously slammed by President Donald Trump for the use of a private email service while secretary of state.
Here’s a statement Kushner lawyer Abbe Lowell gave Politico:
Mr. Kushner uses his White House email address to conduct White House business. Fewer than 100 emails from January through August were either sent to or returned by Mr. Kushner to colleagues in the White House from his personal email account. These usually forwarded news articles or political commentary and most often occurred when someone initiated the exchange by sending an email to his personal rather than his White House address.
Politico states that it has reviewed two dozen emails involving Kushner’s correspondence. Kushner used a private email address to conduct official White House business. He has been found to trade email with former White House Chief of Staff Reince Pribus, former chief strategust Steve Bannon, and National Economic Council directly Gary Cohn.
