Apple has opened donations for Southern Poverty Law Center through iTunes

In another step to promote equality and justice, Apple is now accepting donations for Southern Poverty Law Center through iTunes. After the Charlottesville tragedy, the company has teamed up with Southern Poverty Law Center in order to help with donations.

We previously reported that Apple had been pulling Apple Pay support for website that “promote[s] hate, violence, or intolerance based on race, age, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.” Thus, the company is taking a stand to stay for equality and justice for all.

Tim Cook in his email to Apple employees stated that “Hate is cancer…” and “Like so many of you, equality is at the core of my beliefs and values.” Apple will donate $1 million to each Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League. In addition, employees that want to donate would see a two-for-one donation.

If you want to show your support, head on over to iTunes where you will see the donation link right on the main page. As always, 100% of the proceeds go directly to support Southern Poverty Law Center.
