We previously reported that Apple is expected to hold the iPhone 8 event on September 12. Apple has yet to send out press invites to confirm the date, it’s only a matter of time before this piece of news is confirmed. Now that we know when the iPhone 8 will be announced, lets discuss a few things.
As always, Apple sets the keynote every September to announce new iPhone(s), as well as several other things. Apple will most likely send out press invitations about a week in advance, so most likely on September 5th or around that date. Mashable put an interesting timeline together.
After Apple announces the new iPhone 8 on September 12th, the company will start accepting preorders for the device on September 15th at midnight (PT).
In addition to announcing the iPhone 8, Apple will finalize and officially announce iOS 11 and all compatible devices that can run it. After that, the company will release the software on September 20th, a week after demoing iOS 11 again at the iPhone event.
Following this release, Apple will start to ship iPhone preorders on September 22nd, and will also be available in-stores on the same day. In addition to the iPhone 8, Mashable believes that iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will be available alongside the iPhone 8 in September.
Apple will more than likely have a very limited number of iPhone 8 units on hand in September, and will be sold alongside the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.
