According to a new report from KeyBanc Capital Markets analyst John Vinh (via Reuters), more customers in the US are buying the iPhone 7 than the iPhone 8. Apple recently released the iPhone 8 and have yet to release the iPhone X until later this month.
It’s beginning to look like the minimal excitement around the iPhone 8 is starting to die out. Apple hasn’t released any sales numbers yet for the iPhone 8, but it’s worth mentioning that the iPhone 8 did not sell out immediately on launch day, like previous models.
Even though the iPhone 7 may be outselling the iPhone 8, there are number of factors that could be contributing to it. The first and most important is that people may simply be just waiting for the iPhone X to be released. The iPhone X could be cutting into the iPhone 8 sales figures. Between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, there isn’t a whole lot of different, except for a few features.
If you’re interested in getting the iPhone X, preorders for the device start October 27th. We’ll see if Apple’s iPhone X brings in the sales figures that iPhone 8 has not brought in.
