Hurricane Michael has been causing devastation to millions of people after making landfall. Now, both Apple and Google have stepped up by donating to to help victims affected by Hurricane Michael.
On Wednesday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the search engine giant will be donating $1 million for recovery efforts in the devastation causing by the hurricane. Google has also activated SOS alerts for people that live in the areas affected by Hurricane Michael.

In addition to Google, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the iPhone maker will also be making a donation to assist with Hurricane Michael relief efforts.
Apple is standing with our friends and neighbors in the Gulf Coast region, and will be donating to recovery and relief efforts.

Tim Cook has a special place in his heart for Florida Gulf Coast because he grew up in the area.
This isn’t the first time both companies are making donations to assist in relief efforts. Previously, Apple donated $1 million to the Red Cross to help with Hurricane Florence efforts, and in 2017, made a $5 million donation for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, in addition to accepting donations from customers through iTunes. Google raised $1 million for Hurricane Florence efforts as well.
