AT&T has introduced two new plans for its customers that travel abroad or plan to travel abroad. The wireless carrier offers international service through its Passport program. You now have a choice of two plans to choose from.
The first plan will run you $60 for 1GB of data and the second plan will run $120 for 3GB of data. These prices are one-time fee, and will expire after 30 days. If you want to, you can setup a monthly reoccurring charge to continue to refill your data needs as you see fit. Comparing this to AT&T’s previous offer, the company was charging $40 a month for 200MB data.
If you think you just need a day pass, the company offers an International Day Pass that runs $10 a day. With this program, users can access their stateside data, texting, and calling plan for $10 set rate. If you plan to use a lot of data and text without the presence of Wi-Fi, then this might be your best bet. If you plan to stay abroad for an extended period of time, AT&T’s Passport program might be for you.
