Automaker BMW is launching a pilot program called Access by BMW in Nashville. This program gives those interested a more flexible alternative to ownership of a vehicle by allowing you to switch cars as often as you want (through the mobile app) without paying extra for things like maintenance. By comparison, it’s expensive like Porsche equivalent, but this also means that you’re choosing from high-end vehicles.
Starting with the ‘basic’ Legend tier, it starts at $2,000 per month where it allows you to choose from M2, 4 Series, 5 Series (incl. 530e plug-in hybrid), and the X5 (incl. PHEV model). If you’re interested in a higher tier, there’s the $3,700 per month option for the performance-minded M tier and will allow you to drive the M4 convertible, M5, M6 convertible, X5M and X6M.
It’s worth mentioning that BMW has stressed this as an “opportunity to learn” and the fact that it is a pilot program. There’s also a chance that changes could be made to the Access by BMW program as it further expands.
