Get the iPhone X for half its usual cost on lease from Sprint

Whether or not you’re a Sprint customer, you need to hear out this new iPhone X deal the company is offering. The US’s fourth-largest wireless carrier is letting new and existing (adding a new line) customers save on the iPhone X’s regular $1,000 price with a special deal. You didn’t think you’d hear iPhone X and save half in the same sentence, right?

Customers who sign up for the company’s Sprint Flex 18-month lease program will pay $20 per month for the base model iPhone X. By comparison, the usual recurring payment is $41.67.

The wireless carrier claims that this is “the lowest price” among carriers, but that is a bit deceptive. When Sprint says lease, it really does mean lease. When you reach the end of your 18-month term, you don’t own the iPhone X, rather you’ll have to trade it back in for an update or pay off what’s left on the device balance and keep it. Normally, other carriers will do monthly installments that end with you paying the full price of the phone by the end of your term. Once you reach the end of your end, the device is yours to do with as you wish.

Despite being only lease and really just lease, Sprint is offering the lower lease payments by adding a credit to your bill each month. That will take effect within two billing cycles. While this is a nice deal, just make sure to keep in mind that you’re on the Sprint Flex lease program and you won’t own the device at the end of your 18-month lease term.
