Much like the Amazon Echo Mini, the Google Home Mini is a small, yet powerful music-playing device. That being said, the they aren’t known for having powerful speakers because the Home Mini is a smaller version of Google’s larger speaker.
Apparently, there have been reports popping up on Google’s forums and on Reddit about the Home Mini crashing when the volume is turned up too loud, and was spotted by SlashGear.
Right now, it isn’t exactly clear what’s causing the crashes, but Google team members have already begun to respond to these crash reports and are gathering more information. At least it’s safe to say that Google has acknowledged the issue and is looking into it. It also seems like even Google doesn’t know what the problem is exactly, but it working on it.
Some users have also reported that the crash only occurs with certain songs, like “Royals” by Lorne, which is quite strange. For now though, the easy fix is to lower your volume on the Google Home Mini until a more permanent solution is put in place by Google.
