Sony announces a new major milestone for PS4

The Jolt Journal (https://www.joltjournal.com)

Sony today announced that they have hit a new major milestone for the PlayStation 4. The company said that it has now surpassed 70 million units sold worldwide. This puts the PS4 console on track to surpass its predecessor really soon. Previously, the PS3 sold over 80 million units over its lifespan. At the same time, PS4 has gotten to the 70 million mark in just for years.

If we were to compare the PS4 to its direct competitor, the Xbox One, it’s unclear as to how the two stack against each other because Microsoft hasn’t released any specific sales figures for the Xbox One. Previously, it’s estimates that Xbox One had sold around 20 million units, as of January. We also don’t know the individual sales figures for how many of those units are the PS4 Pro, or other PS4 console. They are all categorized under one name.

Aside from the PS4, PlayStation VR has also hit a new milestone where it topped 2 million units sold. It gives us a good idea that interest in the area is picking up. It took about eight months for VR headset to reach 1 million units, and now it doubled that figure in just six months. Sony added that more than 12 million PSVR games have been sold as of this month.
