If you’re a fan of Drake & Josh TV show (yours truly is!), it may be headed back to appearing on TV. At Thursday’s iHeart Radio Music Awards, Drake Bell teased everyone that a reboot of the popular sitcom is in the work, and will feature himself and costar Josh Peck.
“We’re working on something,” the musician and actor said. “I’m excited. I think we have a great idea.” First reported by PEOPLE, the say that Bell and Peck are “in talks with several networks” about the project they’re working on. A source said that the show will “be more adult and really funny.”
“[The show] is going to be way more creative, way cooler than just, you know, the college years or something like that,” Bell continued. “We knew that if we were ever going to come back, it’s got to be something cool. I’m excited to see what the fans think.”
If you don’t know about the original Drake & Josh show, it was two stepbrothers that had clashing personalities as they navigated their way through life together, with their little sister making things very interesting as well. The original show aired on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2007 and proved to be very popular among viewers.
Bell said he was eager to work with his costar again: “We’ve known each other for so long, and it really is once in a lifetime in this industry that you get to work with somebody and it clicks like that. He’s just got an amazing comedic wit and incredible timing, and he’s really smart and we really get along.”
