No. 3 seed Purdue comes out victorious in close game with Tennessee and advance to Elite 8. The game took place at the KFC Yum! center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Carsen Edwards scored 29 points and Edwards added 27 as the No. 3 seed Purdue escaped with a 99-94 victory in the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament.
Early on, overtime seemed impossible because Purdue led by as many as 18 points and held a 65-51 lead with 10:53 remaining. However, while it did look like a blowout, in just 3:40 minutes, Tennessee stormed back into the game with a 14-0 run to tie the Sweet 16 matchup at 65 after Lamonte Turner scored a three-pointer.
Both Purdue and Tennessee kept going back and forth until the game tied at 82 before heading into overtime. Purdue took care of business from there with a 99-94 win.
