Samsung is a big parts supplier for Apple, meaning they get insight on the company designs and what their future holds before the iPhone maker releases anything. The iPhone X has differentiated itself from its Android competitors but that won’t be the case, according to a new report.
Here’s what will happen: A new Ice Universe, Samsung’s upcoming new Galaxy S9 could be the first Android flagship phone to bring the “3D sensor front camera” from the iPhone X.

This, of course, shouldn’t really come as a surprise. Samsung is generally quick to follow suit when it comes to new features. It was quick to introduce the fingerprint scanner in previous Galaxy smartphones, and in the upcoming Galaxy S9, the company is looking to introduce the 3D sensor front camera.
We have quite a bit ways to go until Spring of 2018 when Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S9. More than just the new sensor copy from iPhone X, we may see additional features that the company could potentially copy from the iPhone maker. We can expect Samsung to use top of the line hardware to power the device. It’ll be interesting to see how Samsung will manufacture and embed TrueDepth cameras since it’s a major bottleneck for Apple right now.
