Tesla has had an incredible 2017 where the company unveiled several new products such as its widely popular electric Semi truck. Now the company is turning its attention to introducing a new product to the world in the near future: a pickup truck.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet on Tuesday that he’s “dying” to make a pickup truck and will build on “right after” they’re done with the Model Y. Considering that Model Y production should go into production in late 2019, we’re still quite a ways away before we see Tesla introduce an electric pickup truck.
I promise that we will make a pickup truck right after Model Y. Have had the core design/engineering elements in my mind for almost 5 years. Am dying to build it.

In another tweet, Musk added that the truck should be “slightly bigger” than an F150 to accommodate a game-changing feature, but did not further elaborate on what this game-changing feature will be.
Similar total size. Maybe slightly bigger to account for a really gamechanging (I think) feature I’d like to add.

Tesla did not immediately respond to Jolt Journal’s request for comment. We will update the post when we hear back from a Tesla spokesperson.
