Blizzard is on the lookout for toxic Overwatch players on YouTube

Blizzard is taking it upon itself to seek out toxic players that play Overwatch and show themselves on YouTube. Right now, toxic players are a huge problem for the Overwatch team, and Blizzard is patrolling YouTube for such players.

Game director Jeff Kaplan explained in a developer update last September, the development team is delaying maps and feature updates to force the developers to create in-game measures to help negate crappy player behavior. Apparently, these tactics seem to be working.

In a new video, Kaplan reported that Overwatch competitive play has seen less abuse and players seem to be reporting abusive players more often. While that’s nice to see the community reporting toxic players, the Overwatch team is taking things to a new level: they’re going out and finding toxic behavior uploaded to ‘social media sites like YouTube’ and issuing punishment for those accounts associated with the toxic behavior.

If you’ve been participating in toxic behavior, be careful out there because the Overwatch team is on the hunt.
