Stadia Controller is Google’s special hardware for game-streaming service

Today, Google took the stage to introduce its game-streaming service called Stadia. The game-streaming service allows gamers to play games on pretty much any device they want, as long as they have a good and stable internet connection. Whether you want to use phones, laptops, desktops or even your TV with Chromecast Ultra, you’ll be able to play games through Stadia.

While introducing Stadia, the company also introduced a piece of hardware called Stadia Controller. It’s a gaming controller that’s a mix between an Xbox One controller and a Nintendo Switch Pro controller. The Stadia Controller offers a traditional gamepad experience for any type of game you want to play. Much like most modern controllers, the Stadia Controller comes with several similar features, such as a D-pad, two analog sticks, four face buttons, and some triggers and shoulder bumpers located on the back.

How exactly is the Stadia Controller different?

You may be wondering how the Stadia Controller is different from other controller on the market. The Stadia Controller has a dedicated button for Google Assist, built-in Wi-Fi, which Google has claimed will help reduce latency so that your movements don’t suffer from lag while being transmitted to Stadia’s Cloud gaming servers.

In addition, the Stadia Controller features a 3.5mm jack, presumably to be used for audio, and a dedicated share button that will automatically record clips at the highest possible resolution (4K or even 8K, when supported), before you share your clips on YouTube.

What’s the price?

Unfortunately, there’s no price available for both Stadia or the Stadia Controller, as well as no set release date. We will likely have to wait at least until E3 before Google spills the beans on how much it will charge for the game-streaming service and the gaming controller.
