The perfectly legal media player, Kodi, has a new platform it just launched on. Xbox One users rejoice because Kodi has now made its way to the platform and is available for download on the console.
Initial reports have suggested that availability is restricted by region. Europeans are getting first access to Kodi on Xbox One, so don’t worry if you aren’t able to access it yet because you will soon.
If you don’t know what Kodi is, you’re missing out. Kodi is a very capable media player that’s highly expandable thanks to third-party add-one like DVR Services and live TV. Kodi though is more known for the go to app for piracy due to wide variety of plugins that allow you to illegally stream movies, shows, live TV, and much more right in your living room.
In a blog post, Kodi says that Xbox One download isn’t finished just yet and there are missing features and bugs presents. Here’s what we know of current limitations as of today:
- There’s limited access to only part of your Video and Music folders.
- Network support is limited to NFS:// shares.
- There’s no access to attached storage or to the Blu-ray drive.
- There might be problems with some add-ons.
