Sales of the game have accelerated quickly because just last month, the company had announced that the game had reached 20 million sold milestone. For a game to get an additional 10 million users is no doubt a great milestone. It definitely helps that the launch on Xbox One has given the game a significant boost to its user base.
Reaching these numbers in less than a year puts PUBG as one of the very few and exclusive games. It’s on par with Blizzard’s multiplayer shooter Overwatch, which hit 30 million players around the world after 11 months being on sale. Destiny, the original one that is, managed to get 20 million players after about eight months of being released.
