Apple is expected to hold an event on September 10 next month where they will announce the iPhone 5S and low-cost iPhone 5C smartphones. The iPhone 5C is expected to help the company in the prepaid and lower end of the market where the high end iPhone is not performing too well. In markets like China and India, Apple continues to struggle in those key market. And it looks like the company may have a harder time gaining traction in China.
According to a new report from GizChina, a Chinese company has already made an iPhone 5C knockoff and is planning to release it into the market for $99. GooPhone, the company responsible for previously bringing the GooPhone i5, and GooPad mini is now planning to release another clone of Apple products called GooPhone 5C.
For a while now, we have already know that the next premium iPhone will be called the iPhone 5S, and the low-cost iPhone will be named “5C”. GooPhone is now copying not only the upcoming budget iPhone’s name, but also is releasing a clone product for very cheap.
GizChina claims that the specs of the GooPhone 5C are 4-inch QHD display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.
