1:00 PM — The iPhone 5s and 5c have come and gone. Now lets move our attention to iPhone 6, the next iPhone that will come later this year. We have seen quite a few rumors going around. One rumor is that Apple plans to introduce two versions of the iPhone, one that will have a 4.7-inch screen and another that will have a 5.7-inch screen. Steve Jobs once said that a 3.5-inch screen size is the perfect size, but that’s not very true anymore due to the overwhelmingly growing popularity of phablets.
In a new report from South Korean publication ET News, we see that the next iPhone will be called “iPhone Air.” Not only that, the iPhone will have a much thinner profile of 6mm than its predecessor. The iPhone 5 and 5s have a 7.6 millimeter profile while the iPhone 5c is thicker, at 8.97 millimeters due to its plastic shell. The iPhone 6 could have be slightly heavier due to a metal body. ET News points us to a Chinese Media as the source of this news. Of course this can’t be verified right now until we start seeing as image leaks of the product.
As always, the iPhone 5s will cost slightly cheaper on contract. It will go down to most likely costing $99 on contract while the iPhone 5c will go free. Apple’s iPhone 5 has already been discontinued by the company, so we won’t necessarily see that. We expect that all future iPhones will most likely come standard with the Touch ID feature. Even though the iPhone 5c doesn’t come with it for now, but it will most likely be a model Apple may discontinue in favor of another one.
