LG took the wraps off of its new smartphone, the LG G2, in New York City. Unsurprisingly, the smartphone follows all of the previous leaks pretty well. The company has equipped their flagship phone with some pretty impressive specs.
Processor/Connectivity
The LG’s choice of hardware in the smartphone is pretty nice. The company decided to equip the phone with a Quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26 GHz, along with 4G LTE connectivity. The smartphone boasts 2 GB RAM, especially for those who are heavy gamers.
Storage Space
The G2 comes in two variants, 16GB and 32GB. Unfortunately, the company did not include any microSD card slot for expandable storage, so be sure to choose wisely if you’re going to order the G2. For just casual users, the 16GB should suffice, although if you like to carry your music around with you, videos, lots of apps, then the 32GB option is there.
Battery
LG did not overlook this area and we are glad they didn’t. The G2 holds a 3,000 mAh, which is pretty nice when compared to the Droid Razr Maxx HD which hosts a 3,300 mAh battery and the Droid Maxx holds a monstrous 3,500 mAh battey. LG has said that the phone is good for up to 1.2 days, which in most cases is more than enough.
Display/Design
The G2 is equipped with a nice 5.2-inch, 1080p IPS LCD display (with 423ppi density) that runs edge-to-edge against the bezel, and the best part is, it’s still thin, light and comfortable to hold. The thickness of the phone is 8mm. The G2 also has some very interesting motion and button controls, starting with its volume rocker and sleep/power buttons, which have altogether have been moved to the rear of the device.
Software
The G2 comes with the latest software, Android 4.2.2. LG of course is including its own skin on top of the software, however, there are some pretty interesting things included to account for the new features that come with the new phone.
Overall
The LG G2 seems like a nice contender against other smartphones in the market, especially against its biggest rival, the Samsung Galaxy S4. The bezel-less look on the phone seems very nice and attractive. With all day battery life, equipped with top-notch hardware and other good features, will you be interested in getting the G2?
