In a recent patch update (2.18.31), the time to unsend a message (“delete for everyone”) on WhatsApp has been extended to one hour, eight minutes and 16 seconds, according to a tweet from the messaging service.
WhatsApp’s competitor Telegram gives users 48 hours to delete a message and save themselves from any embarrassment before anyone sees their message. WhatsApp has some catching up to do here because the company is still falling quite behind Telegram.
Though, it is worth mentioning that both Telegram and WhatsApp are more generous than GMail’s 30-second unsend feature. So at least you have more flexibility now, right?
A new WhatsApp for iOS update (2.18.31) is available on AppStore.
It is a bug fixes update, but it has the new “Delete for everyone” limit, that’s 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds.— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) March 8, 2018
