Samsung to launch a host of new tablets early 2014

GalaxyNote10_2710:00 AM – For a while now, it has been rumored that Samsung is going to launch a number of tablets.  This is essentially continuing on with its gadget spam plan, however the plan does work.  Its advertising budget is very massive and what that kind of power, anything is possible.  It seems that the guys over at Sam Mobile have figured out what those tablets will be, according to their insider sources.

The company will launch four new tablets in the first quarter of 2014.  The tablets are: 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab Pro, 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab Pro, 12.2-inch Galaxy Note Pro and 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.  Note that there are three “Pro” models and one “Lite” model.  The Pro models will have the Wifi and LTE options, but for the Lite version, it will have Wifi and 3G only, no LTE option.  Sam Mobile suggests that Tab 3 Lite will launch in second week of 2014, with the Pro 8.4 and Note Pro 12.2 following in week six and the Pro 10.1 launching in week seven.

It is rumored that the Pro models will include high-res AMOLED displays as oppose to LCD displays that Samsung currently uses.  The company however may use the LCD display in the Lite version as that’s expected to be a budget option.  Speaking of price points, the Lite version is expected to cost under €100 (around $136), according to the report.  Currently, the price point for the Pro models is unknown.

Color choices in the Pro models will be either white or black.  Storage options will include minimum 16GB, with of course expandable option available using the SD card slot.  The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 will however have 32GB of memory.

Samsung is looking to compete with the likes of Apple since the iPad is the hottest tablet on the market.  By introducing several different tablets with different price tags, the company is essentially giving consumers a choice in choosing which tablet fits their budget.  Or at least this is what Samsung has said in the past.  In another rumor, Apple is working on a 12.9-inch version of the iPad, perhaps called the iPad Pro?
