ZTE Geek, world’s first Tegra 4 smartphone goes official

ZTE-GeekOriginally, the ZTE Geek smartphone was revealed at Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Beijing last April, with mid-range specs.  At the time, the specs were 2GHz dual-core Intel Atom chipset, and 720p screen resolution.  The smartphone was not revealed during the Q3 launch as originally planned by ZTE.

Later on, ZTE boosted the Geek internals to much higher specs.  TENNAA certification revealed what the new Geek had in store for us.  Now according to a report from WeiPhone,  ZTE has finally taken the wraps off of its Geek smartphone.  The smartphone boasts high end specs such as NVDIA’s 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 SoC, 1080p screen, 2GB RAM, and 2300 mAh battery size.

Currently, the phone is expected to only support China Mobile’s 3G network.  This means the smartphone will not work outside of that specified network.  On the other hand, the price of the phone is what seems interesting.  ZTE, after a long struggle with the phone has decided to price it at 1888 Yuan, which is about $308 in USD.

Take a look at the ZTE Geek and let us know what you think.  On a side note, looking at the ZTE Geek reminds me of the iPhone 5c.  Perhaps this is iPhone 5c’ older brother?
